COLLEGE FJORD

College Fjord in Alaska. Each glacier is named after an Ivy League University--girls on right; boys on left! The 3rd and 4th photos are of the biggest glacier in College Fjord.
Harvard Glacier's face is a mile and a half wide and 300 feet high and about 100 feet below the water line. It's located at the end of College Fjord off Prince William Sound near Whittier, Alaska. It is an advancing tidewater glacier covering 120,000 acres of the Chugach National Forest. The last photo shows melted icewater rushing out at water level. The water is very dirty since it contains ground up dirt and rocks.
